Italiano: La livella a bolla fu inventata da M. Thèvenot nel 1666.
Il tubo di vetro che la compone è parzialmente riempito da un liquido come alcol o etere, per la loro fluidità, e la bolla è costituita da aria e vapore del liquido stesso. la bolla tende a galleggiare nella parte più alta avendo una densità minore del liquido. Il tubo di vetro è completamente ricoperto da un cilindro metallico che funge da custodia, ma la parte centrale rimane scoperta. Quando la livella è in piano orizzontale, la bolla si trova al centro. Dunque, tale strumento viene utilizzato, per misurare l'inclinazione di un asse: posta la livella su un asse, si legge la graduazione segnata dai due estremi della bolla. |
