Description
English: .50 Government Carbine cartridge, also .50 Ball Cartridge
  • Origin: USA
  • Manufaturer: Frankford Arsenal
  • Shortened version (33.5 mm case lenght) of the .50-70 originally in rimfire, it was Bennet-primed adopted in 1866 as part of the musket to breechloader conversion exercise and uses a 45 gr black powder load (.50-45-430) for use in Sharps and Remington carbines.
