Deutsch: Was geschieht mit dem menschlichen Körper auf einem Flug zum Mars? Wie reagiert der Körper eines Patienten, der längere Zeit das Bett hüten muss? Wie wirkt sich die Beleuchtung auf unsere Stimmung aus? Gibt es Maßnahmen gegen die daraus resultierenden negativen Folgen? Auf diese wichtigen Fragen müssen wir für uns auf der Erde eine Antwort finden, um etwa die Auswirkungen von Alterung, Bettlägerigkeit, Immobilisation und Isolation besser verstehen zu können.
Das DLR-Institut für Luft- und Raumfahrtmedizin ist ein in diesem Bereich weltweit führendes Forschungsinstitut. Das :envihab („environment“ = Umwelt und „habitat“ = Lebensraum) ist eine einzigartige, hoch technologische medizinische Forschungseinrichtung, in dem das Institut zukunftsweisende Forschung betreibt. Das Ziel: die Gesundheit und Leistungsfähigkeit des Menschen zu erhalten.
