Description Bâtie à l'origine (1519) au milieu du Tage, elle défendait le monastère des Hiéronymites et servait de phare. Le lit du fleuve s'étant déplacé lors du tremblement de terre, cette tour manuéline de cinq étages borde aujourd'hui une plage. De style romano-gothique, elle s'orne de loggias vénitiennes et de dômes évoquant le Maroc. Une plate-forme est accolée à la tour, face à la mer. On aperçoit, au rez-de-chaussée, des ouvertures par lesquelles les prisonniers étaient jetés dans des fosses.
