Description
English: A Roman pottery rim sherd from a white ware mortarium (AD43-410). This rim sherd includes the pouring spout which has been formed by smooth the upright rim over the square-sectioned flange. On the upright rim there are two decorative grooves running either side of the top of the rim. There are several trituration grits remaining on the internal surface. The grits are multi-coloured quartz and the surfaces have founded facets visible. The fabric is white throughout. Dimensions: Diameter: 130mm; weight: 177.53g.
