Description
English: Saint-Salvicollegiate church in Albi - Baldachin of the High Altar (Ciborium). The gilded wooden canopy supported by 6 marble columns was installed in 1730 at the request of Antoine de Metge, provost of the chapter since 1717. This piece of furniture completes the main altar consecrated by the Archbishop of the Cross of Castries on the 3rd December 1723 and imitates the Parisian models of Saint-Germain-des-Prés and Val de Grâce.
Français : Collégiale Saint-Salvi à Albi - Baldaquin du Maître-autel (Ciborium). Le baldaquin en bois doré supporté par 6 colonnes de marbre est installé en 1730 à la demande d'Antoine de Metge, prévôt du chapitre depuis 1717. Cet élément mobilier complête l'autel majeur consacré par l'archevêque de la Croix de Castries le 3 décembre 1723 et imite les modèles parisiens de Saint-Germain-des-Prés et du Val de Grâce.
