עברית: דוברות בית הנשיא: נשיא המדינה יצחק הרצוג השתתף ביום רביעי, ה' באב, 14 ביולי, באירוע פתיחת שגרירות איחוד האמירויות הערביות בישראל בבורסה לניירות ערך בתל אביב. את הנשיא אירח שגריר איחוד האמירויות הערביות בישראל, מוחמד אל חאג'ה, Mohammad Mahmoud Al Khajah.

בפתח דבריו אמר הנשיא: "פתיחת שגרירות זו מהווה אבן דרך חשובה במסענו המשותף לעבר עתיד של שלום, שגשוג וביטחון למזרח התיכון. בעוד שראיית דגל האמירות מתנופף בגאווה בתל אביב אולי היה נראה כחלום רחוק רק לפני שנה, במובנים רבים שום דבר לא יכול להיות טבעי יותר", עוד הוסיף כי: "כפי שגילו כל כך הרבה ישראלים ואמירתים, מדינותינו ועמינו חולקים הרבה מאוד. שנינו מדינות שמעריכות את ההיסטוריה והמסורות שלנו, תוך דחיפת גבולות החדשנות והמדע. אנו נטועים עמוק בארצנו, תוך מבטנו אל הכוכבים. שנינו בנינו את מדינותינו המודרניות על חולות מדבר, מה שהופך את הבלתי אפשרי לאפשרי ושנינו יצרנו חברות תוססות ורב-תרבותיות, באמצעות מחויבות בלתי מעורערת לחופש דת ופולחן ולכבוד האדם."

עוד התייחס הנשיא לחשיבות השלום בין שתי המדינות ואמר: "השלום בינינו יועיל לשני עמינו באמצעות שיתוף הפעולה שלנו בבריאות וברפואה, הסכם השלום שלנו יציל חיים. באמצעות יוזמות משותפות בתחום ביטחון המזון והמים, הסכם זה יוביל לעתיד בר קיימא וגמיש יותר. ובאמצעות דיאלוג בין אנשים לאנשים, שתי התרבויות שלנו יועשרו. עם זאת, ההחלטה האמיצה של הנהגת איחוד האמירויות, לפתוח את הדלת לידידות חמה בין עמינו, הידידות אינה חשובה רק לישראל ולאיחוד האמירויות, אלא למזרח התיכון כולו. הסכמי אברהם יקדמו יציבות וביטחון בכל אזורנו, וידגימו לכולם את ההבטחה העצומה והפוטנציאל לשלום".

בסוף דבריו ציין הנשיא את חשיבות השלום ואת פועלו בנושא: "את מעגל השלום ההיסטורי הזה יש להרחיב למדינות נוספות שמחפשות את קרבתנו. את המהלך המבורך הזה אסור להפסיק. עם שוחר שלום אנו והרוצים בשלום יענו בחיוב ובלחיצת יד איתנה. בשיחות הטלפון האחרונות שלי עם מנהיגי האזור, הבנתי שוב שיש לנו הרבה יותר שותפים ובעלי ברית במשימה הזו ממה שחשבנו. גם היהדות וגם האיסלאם מלמדים כי אחד משמות האל הוא שלום".
