Description
中文（臺灣）：雄鎮北門砲臺，清末所建，相對於打狗港南岸的旗後砲臺之門額「□□天南」，入口大門有如一般中國城牆，上有五座磚砌雉堞。 雖是一座碼頭旁的小砲臺，但大體上亦具備營門、城垣、彈藥庫及營舍等設施，與旗後、大鼓山兩砲臺構成一組相輔相成的防禦體系。
English: The Syongjhen North Gate Fort was built during the final years of the Qing Dynasty. It stands on the opposite side to the Cihou Fort which is situated at the south side of the Dagou Harbor. The entrance is similar to regular Chinese city walls with the inscribed ledger of 〝□□天南(_ _ southern sky)〞 and its five brick battlements above.While it may be a small fort on a dock, it is complete with an entrance, wall, ammunition depot and barracks, and is a part of the defense system formed with the other two forts at Cihou and Dagushan.
