中文（臺灣）：陳悅記家族做為清代淡北重要的士紳家族，擁有廣闊的交際人脈，反映在陳悅記祖宅(老師府)的空間需求上，先後興建公媽廳及公館廳兩大建築組群，前者為陳家祖先祭祀的中心、後者為社交中心，組成臺灣少見雙軸線配置。陳家的崛起與發展和當時的社會脈動息息相關，對於清代北臺灣的歷史發展造成重要的影響。尤其是陳家多人積極的致力文教，使大龍峒名士輩出，故地方人士尊為「老師」，稱其宅為「老師府」，為大龍峒地區清代文風鼎盛的象徵。
