Description
中文：此圖為紀錄第二守備隊司令官荻野末吉少將於饅頭山鞍部營地軍事用帳中，前房木箱上還寫有「荻野」二字，荻野末吉的作戰經驗可從1881年（明治14年）後日本陸軍士官學校畢業後談起，1885年（明治18年）曾被派駐至西伯利亞到蒙古段的偵查工作，1904年（明治37年）日俄戰爭曾擔任參謀出征，隔年任俄羅斯大使館武官，1914年（大正3年）太魯閣討伐戰役擔任守備隊司令官。
由森垣榮所經營的精美堂印刷，下田寫真館發行《大正三年太魯閣蕃討伐軍隊記念》，內容主要由居住在臺南的下田正於太魯閣戰役時，跟隨由少將萩野末吉率領的第二守備隊推進時所拍攝。寫真帖附有軍官職員表及立霧溪一帶行軍地圖，拍攝內容包括山川地景、行軍過程、戰況及戰爭成果。
