| Description |
中文（臺灣）：花蓮中正堂，前身為日治時期「武德殿」，位於今花蓮市中華與中山路口。昔日日本政府為推廣武道，於1895年（明治28年）在京都成立的財團法人大日本武德會下的一個推廣單位，藉此推廣劍道、柔道與弓道，使其成為日本人的核心價值，而「武德殿」之名稱則是因襲平安時代而來。「武德殿」發源於日本的警察系統，肩負保護民眾重責且必須經常對盜匪及不法之徒的挑戰，所以平時必須習得防身的武藝，因此武術對維護治安的警察個外重要與必要。然而，其在第二次世界大戰期間曾因美軍炸彈空襲的波及使得木造結構的屋頂幾乎全毀，直至戰後才將此屋頂改造修復，且將其命名為「中正堂」。因此，我們也可以得知其為自日本治理臺灣時期的武德殿所改建而來的建築。本資料出自於《顧我洄瀾：花蓮歷史影像集》，此書由花蓮出身的葉柏強先生撰寫，是一本擁有大量歷史影像的書籍，於2016年（民國105年）出版，可以透過此書了解花蓮的城市變遷樣貌。 |
