中文（臺灣）：從照片中可見一位盛裝打扮的太魯閣族婦女，紋面於額頭與雙頰上，在太魯閣族傳統中女性必須擅長織布與耕作，才有資格印上這樣象徵美麗、勇敢、避邪的圖案。另外男性則是要善於藤編與狩獵，才能在額頭與下巴紋面。而打獵的過程中，必須嚴守其Gaya（祖靈）的規範，打獵的季節也會依照自然的循環（如：進入一些主要狩獵的動物繁殖期就不打獵）來避免破壞生態平衡。太魯閣族族人中相信人在逝世後會經過一道彩虹橋跟祖先們相會，若沒紋面者就無法透過此印記前往橋的另一端與祖靈們相認，因為有紋面祖靈才能認得你是同一個族群的子孫。此影像收錄於《顧我洄瀾：花蓮歷史影像集》一書，為葉柏強先生撰寫、花蓮縣文化局於2016年（民國105年）出版。書中記錄了花蓮近百年的城市樣貌，是一本擁有豐富文史與圖像資料的書籍。 |
