| Description |
中文（臺灣）：蔴荳保數十庄信眾共祀湄洲媽祖——天上聖母。神像於明末隨先民渡海來台，初期社會凋蔽，無力建廟，僅築竹材小祠奉祀。由於神靈顯赫，前清康熙年間，曾分香西庄、瓦磘等地。乾隆中葉以降，蔴荳港內海陸浮，水堀頭蔴荳街漸告衰頹，街市西移，蔴荳街北角上帝廟〔北極殿〕與西角媽祖宮〔護濟宮〕間，聚集成為新興街市——穀里街。乾隆辛丑46年〔1781〕，蔴荳保蔴荳庄蚊港厝角林朝牌倡首改建磚造廟宇，供奉媽祖，顏廟號「護濟宮」。 |
