Description

小麥是禾本科,一年生或越年生草本,溫帶長日照植物,。總產量僅次於玉米和稻米,是世界上第三大的糧食作物。

小麥可磨成麵粉,為人類的主要食糧來源之一。

《本草拾遺》:「小麥麵,補虛,實人膚體,厚腸胃,強氣力。」味甘,性涼。能養心益脾,和五臟,調經絡,除煩止渴,利小便。

臺灣主要栽培小麥的地方是臺中市大雅區,繁盛時期曾栽培到1500公頃,目前約僅剩下70公頃左右。

2013年的大雅小麥文化節,活動地點:台中市大雅區員林村寶興宮前廣場舉行3/9(六)(台中市大雅區大林路212巷與神林路231巷附近),結合小麥與文化活動,主題為「麥蛇玩薏」
