小麥是禾本科，一年生或越年生草本，溫帶長日照植物，。總產量僅次於玉米和稻米，是世界上第三大的糧食作物。 小麥可磨成麵粉，為人類的主要食糧來源之一。 《本草拾遺》：「小麥麵，補虛，實人膚體，厚腸胃，強氣力。」味甘，性涼。能養心益脾，和五臟，調經絡，除煩止渴，利小便。 臺灣主要栽培小麥的地方是臺中市大雅區，繁盛時期曾栽培到1500公頃，目前約僅剩下70公頃左右。 2013年的大雅小麥文化節，活動地點：台中市大雅區員林村寶興宮前廣場舉行3/9(六)(台中市大雅區大林路212巷與神林路231巷附近)，結合小麥與文化活動，主題為「麥蛇玩薏」 |
