中文（臺灣）：電姬戲院創建人為陳臣，陳臣白手起家，生意穩定後並經營布店，並設有染布間。長子陳福牛後與日本生意人合作，並以肥料為主要銷售商品，開設「金聚利」，又成為日本三菱商事株式會社臺南州的總代理商。此外，陳家又經營水泥、肥料、明治糖等民生必需品，陳臣的事業如日中天，成為麻豆富商之一。
日治時期麻豆地區只有竹仔戲院，部份地方仕紳希望再成立一家戲院，商請陳臣出面經營，其後因戲院的成本過高，他人負擔不起，最後股份皆由陳家人所承攬。 戲院建於昭和13年(1938)，原名為「電姬館」，「電」代表電影播放，「姬」代表日本公主，寓意雍容華貴，「館」則是日本人對戲院的稱呼。電姬館象徵流行尖端的高雅場所，引領戲院播放電影的先驅。 電姬館二戰期間一度歇業，戰後由陳臣的三子陳福德接手經營，民國38年（1949）改名為「電姬戲院」，人戲與電影皆具，為一種綜合性質的戲院，民國76年歇業，目前為閒置狀態。
