中文（臺灣）：本文以一句中崎當地諺語「有中崎厝，無中崎富；有中崎富，無中崎厝」為討論動機，並透過史料與口訪等資料來探討高雄縣橋頭鄉中崎該地的興衰。
本文說明中崎的發展歷史，明鄭時期始於中衝營軍隊掠奪平埔族土地，並將該地設為營盤田進行屯墾，修築中衝崎陂，以利灌溉。清領時期，隨著大量漢人的移墾，已逐漸發展成中衝崎街，並且與橋仔頭、後勁庄，形成三大繁華聚落，其中中衝崎街也具有交通便利的河港──中崎港，其可往來蟯港與萬丹港等地，故為當時內陸重要港口之一，但隨著時間演進，港口與河道逐漸因泥沙淤積而荒廢，進而導致中崎港的沒落，再加上日治初期，因林小貓與盧石頭在南部鳳山、阿公店一帶發起抗日事件，日軍為破壞其後勤補給，故在阿蓮、岡山、橋頭等地區展開清鄉屠村，使中崎村落也遭到嚴重的破壞，市街逐漸凋零。 綜言上述，透過史料統整與口述歷史的相關資料，不僅還原了中崎這個聚落的興衰過程，更能從歷史地理學的角度，來了解臺灣本土鄉鎮市街的形成過程與發展因素。 |
