中文(臺灣):林福春的〈「日治時期」外地藝師於蘭陽寺院創作之研究〉,於2012年6月發表於《書畫藝術學刊》12期,頁25-52。主要敘述清末民初之際,興築寺院匠師的技藝競賽,成了鄉民茶餘飯後關注的焦點。由於先民思想封閉,加上根深柢固的地域觀念,連興建寺院都壁壘分明,蘭陽溪北、溪南的匠師在施作時,彼此會相互較勁,為一爭高下,嘗聞弄到廢寢忘食的地步,寺院的主事者甚或延攬外地匠師加入競爭的行列,遂使競逐活動蔚為風氣。綜觀應聘前來蘭陽的外地藝師,他們頗能一展長才,為寺院留下精心傑作。作者表示,「日治時期」前來蘭陽的藝師,其成員分別來自臺北、廣東、廈門、福州、泉州等地,廟方常巧妙地應用各地藝師爭勝的心理,藉以提升藝作品質,留下傳世之作。而藝師們也逐漸在宜蘭生根,畢生貢獻鄉土,勞苦功高,這些老師傅們有些已被遴選為「民族藝師」,他們除了留下優質的藝作,使蘭陽寺院更為恢宏燦爛外,也廣招生徒,薪傳技藝,對蘭陽寺院藝術人才的培養,功不可沒。另外,藝師也會應聘雲遊南北,藝作遍佈各地,遂使蘭陽與臺地的藝術網絡上能連結在一起,若以文獻的學術價值而言,誠然意義重大。
