中文（臺灣）：第五任臺灣總督佐久間左馬太為歷任的臺灣總督中，在任最久的一位，其在任內推行「五年理蕃計畫」，曾發動近百次的武力行動，其中1914年（大正3年）開始的太魯閣戰役，是二十世紀臺灣本島最大的一場戰役。由於他於太魯閣戰役討伐有功，因此當地警察機關在此申請興建佐久間神社，神社便於1923年（大正12年）創建完工，供奉大己貴命與佐久間左馬太。神社地點大約位於太魯閣天祥公園、晶英酒店、天祥郵局、天祥天主堂一帶的位置。此圖為遠眺佐久間神社的畫面，圖片下方的站點為昔日的加油站，其中在左上角可看到佐久間神社的鳥居。該地於1960年（民國49年）完建中橫公路後，立了文天祥的銅像而改為「文天祥公園」。此影像收錄於《顧我洄瀾：花蓮歷史影像集》一書，為葉柏強先生撰寫、花蓮縣文化局於2016年（民國105年）出版。書中記錄了花蓮近百年的城市樣貌，是一本擁有豐富文史與圖像資料的書籍。 |
