Summary[edit]

Description “Building Bridges” [1] combines traditional images of the Berlin Airlift, celebrating history on the one hand while using inspiring English and German words and street art to take us into the present. The words are a combination of expressions found in the U.S. Declaration of Independence and U.S. Constitution. The two clasping arms, undefined by gender, race or age, springing from the airlift memorials in Tempelhof and Frankfurt, symbolize the enduring German-American friendship and a bright and hopeful future
