| Description |
English: Dr. Abhaya Deva Sharma was born on 27th September, 1933 and died on 18th November, 2019. After his Ph.D thesis in 1974 on Mysteries of Oblations in Fire, he remained engaged in teaching till retirement in 1991. He has spent most of his time either in editing of the magazine Veda Savita or managing the affair of Veda Samsthana or research on finding the real meanings of veda mantras. He follows the conviction that nothing is secret; real meaning of words of a veda mantra lies hidden in other mantras. He is constantly striving to make veda mantras legible to understand even for a layman. His method of teaching Sanskrit either at beginning level or advanced level involves exposition of veda mantra only. He has guided several students for PhD work and has a number of research papers, books (both published and unpublished) to his credit.
संस्कृतम्: डा. अभयदेवशर्मणः जन्मतिथिः २७ सितम्बर, १९३३ ई. अस्ति। तस्य स्वर्गवासः १८ नवम्बर, २०१९ तिथौ अभवत्। सन् १९७४ वर्षे हविर्यज्ञाः एवं तेषां रहस्योपरि स्वशोधप्रबन्धस्य प्रस्तुतिकरणोपरि सः सन् १९९१ वर्षे सेवानिवृत्तिपर्यन्तं संस्कृत एवं सम्बद्धविषयाणां अध्यापने संलग्नः आसीत्। तस्य अधिकांशकालः वेद सविता पत्रिकायाः सम्पादने, अथवा वेद संस्थानस्य प्रबन्धने अथवा वेदमन्त्राणां नवीनार्थस्य अन्वेषणे व्यतीतः अभवत्। तस्य धारणा अस्ति यत् वेदमन्त्रस्य शब्दविशेषस्य अर्थः वेदसंहितायाः अन्येषु मन्त्रेषु निहितः अस्ति। न किमपि रहस्यमस्ति। तस्य सतत् प्रयासः अस्ति यत् वेदमन्त्राः सामान्य जनेभ्यः अपि बोधगम्याः भवन्तु। संस्कृत भाषायाः अध्यापने, आरम्भिक स्तरे एवं विकसित स्तरे अपि, तस्य आधारः वेदमन्त्रः एव भवति। वेदमन्त्रतः संस्कृत अध्ययनम्। |
