English: Hebrew: Sundial on Jaffa Street. Jerusalem. A large sundial is located at the top of the four-story synagogue hot Zuhri, on Jaffa Road 92 Jerusalem, opposite the Mahane Yehuda market. The sundial on the building structure designed(? by) Rabbi Moshe Shapira, a yeshiva student "Mea Shearim", who learned the secrets of astronomy on his own. The two goals for the Dial were to show the time of prayer and the Sabbath. The alarm clock was calibrated according to the Land of Israel (or Jerusalem clock) when the new day begins with the setting of the previous day. Over the Dial are two clocks are used for rainy days, when sin is hidden. |
