Summary[edit]
English: The local mythological character Kikimora Vyatskaya on Spasskaya Street in Kirov on the opening day of the tourist season. A kikimora is a mythological creature, usually female, living next to a person in his house or other buildings, spinning at night and bringing trouble and harm to both households and people entering the house.
On the Kikimora mountain, from where the Vyatka land is visible in all directions, from time immemorial, Kikimores have lived side by side with people. There is an urban legend in Kirov (Vyatka), which says that in the XIV century the Novgorod ushkuiniks decided to establish a settlement on the banks of the Vyatka River. We have prepared a construction forest. And the Kikimorka pranksters fused all the logs for construction downstream of the river in one night. In the morning, the Novgorodians discovered that there was not a single log on the hill. Later, they found their construction forest in another place – downstream, and there they decided to found a city, which they called Vyatka. Since then, there has been a legend that kikimores are mischievous on this mountain
