Годы постройки: 1801-1811 Архитекторы: Воронихин А. Н. Ближайшие станции метро:Гостиный Двор, Невский Проспект. Казанский собор был построен по проекту А.Воронихина для иконы Казанской Божьей Матери.Эта икона являлась святыней дома Романовых, ее привез на берега Невы еще Петр I. По воле императора Павла I А.Воронихин при строительстве Казанского собора в качестве архитектурного прототипа использовал собор Св.Петра в Риме,но о знаменитом прообразе напоминает лишь мотив полукруглой колоннады перед зданием собора.

В остальном А.Воронихин создал самостоятельное архитектурное сооружение, гармонично вошедшее в застройку Невского проспекта.
