Household items made of patchwork at the exhibition of folk craftsmen "Wonderful patchwork"

Summary[edit]

Description
English: Patchwork sewing originated and developed in the peasant environment. A rare peasant hut did not have a patchwork quilt sewn from pieces of clothes that had served their time. The production of patchwork quilts was associated with the wedding ceremony: it was part of the dowry, it was customary to give for the birth of a child. Among the urban population, patchwork products have long been considered a sign of poverty. And only in the 70s of the XX century, when folklore style came into fashion, interest in patchwork sewing arose again. In Kirov, many women are fond of patchwork sewing, arrange exhibitions of products.Sew not only blankets but many other household items.Traditions are being revived.
