Українська: Вольфартова муха (Wohlfahrtia magnifica Schiner, 1862) з роду Wohlfahrtia Brauer et von Bergenstamm, 1889 родини Сірих м’ясних мух (Sarcophagidae Macquart, 1834). Дорослі комахи завдовжки приблизно від 6 до 10 мм, личинки від 5 до 7 мм. На сірому черевці є три ряди темних плям. Вольфартова муха – пасовищний вигляд. Імаго харчуються на квітах. Личинки вольфартової мухи викликають міази у ссавців, головним чином у овець, а також у великої рогатої худоби, кіз, коней та рідко у людини. У овець личинки вражають геніталії чи відкриті рани. Людина личинки вражають живі тканини вух, очей, рота чи носа. Личинки живляться живими тканинами, можуть виїдати великі ділянки м'язів. Прокладаючи ходи в тканинах, личинки не тільки викликають хворобливі відчуття – пошкоджені ділянки розпухають та гнояться, тканини частково відмирають, з носа починається кровотеча. Після видалення личинок усі ці явища проходять.
English: Spotted flesh fly (Wohlfahrtia magnifica Schiner, 1862) from the genus Wohlfahrtia Brauer et von Bergenstamm, 1889 of the Flesh fly family (Sarcophagidae Macquart, 1834). Adult insects are approximately 6 to 10 mm long, larvae 5 to 7 mm. There are three rows of dark spots on the gray belly. Spotted flesh fly - pasture type. Adults feed on flowers. Spotted flesh fly larvae cause myiasis in mammals, mainly in sheep, but also in cattle, goats, horses, and rarely in humans. In sheep, the larvae infect the genitals or open wounds. Human larvae infect the living tissues of the ears, eyes, mouth or nose. Larvae feed on living tissues, can eat large areas of muscle. Making their way through the tissues, the larvae not only cause painful sensations - the damaged areas swell and fester, the tissues partially die, the nose begins to bleed.
