Description
Español: Durante la conquista del septentrión, los españoles encontraron una gran cantidad de lagunas en estos lugares, siendo las más importantes las de Mayrán, Viesca y Tlahualilo, de ahí que en un principio esta región fue conocida como "País de la Laguna". (Mapa "Tlahualilo, raíces y destino", Prof. José Gpe. Cortina M.)
English: During the conquest of the north, the Spanish found a large number of lakes in this area, the most important ones being Mayrán, Viesca and Tlahualilo. Hence this region became known as the "País de la Laguna" (Country of the Lake). (Map "Tlahualilo, raíces y destino", Prof. José Guadalupe Cortina M.)
