A group of Australian soldiers pictured outside a weatherboard hut, with the inscription on the back 'Love from George - this is some of hut boys'.

George was George Arthur Fraser was born at Inkerman (near Port Wakefield) on 7 June 1892, the third son and sixth child of Donald and Christina (nee Little) Fraser. His occupation at the time of enlistment on 22 July 1916 was 'farmer'; he was assigned as a private in the 5th Reinforcements, 48th Battalion (service number 2414). He was wounded when 'friendly fire' landed near an ammunition dump, and died of his wounds as a German prisoner. He was buried at the French town of Corbehem.
