'Seal-top' Spoon
Description
English: An incomplete cast copper-alloy terminal and stem belonging to a post-Medieval 'seal-top' spoon dating late 16th to 17th.

The terminal has a flat undecorated top, a collar, a baluster and the then a collar. The stem is oval (almost rectangular) in cross-section. There is a casting seam down one side of the terminal. The break is old.

There are minute traces of a mid-green patina with small patches of tinning on the stem.

Length (if straightened): 92.5mm; diameter of seal top: 12.0mm. Stem measures 4.9 x 2.6mm. Weight: 15.29g.
