Description

Rolduc is een voormalige abdij in Kerkrade. Tussen 1104 en 1819 was het een abdij, daarna een kleinseminarie van het bisdom Luik. In 1843 werd het een Nederlands internaat en in 1946 het kleinseminarie van het bisdom Roermond. In 1970 werd het een conferentieoord annex hotel. In 1974 werd er ook het grootseminarie van het bisdom Roermond gevestigd.

De tekst boven het Mariabeeld luidt: 'VIRGO SINE LABE CONCEPTA, AEDES HASCE DEFENDE'. 'Maria zonder smet ontvangen, bescherm dit huis'.
