Imaginary Meeting of Guru Nanak, Mardana Sahab, and Other Sikh Gurus. The ten Sikh Gurus, representing the guru-lineage of Baba Priyatam Das Udasi (alt. spelt as Baba Pritam Das Udasi), 1780. It is the earliest known painting showing all ten Sikh Gurus together. India, Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad, circa 1780. Commissioned painting by Lala Nanak Ram upon meeting Priyatam Das Udasi in 1780. Other figures depicted: Lala Nanak Ram (shown bottom-left, with moustache), Baba Priyatam Das Udasi (bottom-right, seated), and Lakhpat Rai (son at the bottom-left, him and his father have hands clasped in homage to the holy man, identified in gold-lettered Nasta’liq script; alternatively identified as Chandu Lal). "It is taken from the earliest known painting of all ten Sikh Gurus together (probably painted in Hyderabad, c 1780), with each being identified in golden Persian nasta'liq script. This stunning work of art is in the collection of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art."
