Description
English: An 1899 article, "Peers and Peeresses in Business" by Ignota, in The Harmsworth Magazine. The article depicts Daisy Greville in riding habit, using an Alexander Bassano photo-portrait of 1890. The article also contains an image of the Marquess of Londonderry. Frances Evelyn Maynard, "Daisy Greville", Countess of Warwick, (1861-1938), was wife to Francis Greville, Lord Brooke (m.1881). Francis Greville became the 5th Earl of Warwick in 1893, with 'Daisy' becoming countess. Daisy Greville, sole beneficiary of the Maynard fortune, and of Easton Lodge, Little Easton, Essex, was an English courtesan and socialite, later turned champagne socialist.
