Description About 1,000 activists protesting the alleged slow pace of federal research against AIDS spent the morning of May 21, 1990 marching on the NIH campus and at three buildings. Eighty-two demonstrators were arrested, including 21 who broke into the office of Dr. Daniel Hoth, director of NIAID's Division of AIDS, at the Control Data Building in Rockville, Maryland.
