SALT LAKE CITY Savings Bank and Trust Company, the oldest andlargest Savings Bank in Utah, organized by BrighamVfoung and his associates in the year 1873. Amongits original incorporators was its present President, ph R Smith, who was then chosen one of itsVice Presidents; and who became President of thebank in 1901. The bank building (one of the largestand most expensive of its kind in Salt Lake City) wascreeled in (886, and is situated opposite the southeastr of Temple Square, a point from which all landmeasurements in the State of Utah are made by theFederal Government. The growth of the bank has been gradual butconstant from its organization. The main growthhas been under its present management. Since itsestablishment 41,9!.? savings accounts have beenopened, of which number practically fourteen thousandhave been opened in the past four years. One purposeif its founders and managers has been to encouragehabits of thrift, and to this end deposits of $1 ormure are received. Deposits
