Description
Rampart City was established in 1897 and used as a stopping point for prospectors traveling on the Yukon River. The "Nunivac" was a United States Coast Guard Cutter that helped establish law and order on the frontier. It was tasked with patrol of the Yukon River between 1899 and 1902. The Charles H. Hamilton was constructed in St. Michael, Alaska in 1897 and owned and operated by the North American Trading & Transportation Company. U.S. Revenue Cutter "Nunivac." Stm. "Chas. H. Hamilton." at Rampart City, Alaska. Pillsbury + Cleveland, No. 47 General Rampart location provided.
