Description

Art Gallery of Nova Scotia, Downtown, Halifax, Nova Scotia. "Meskocipayiwak". This carved mask by Ned Bear, whose name in the Cree language means "they changed on their own", is among the First Nations artwork that makes up an significant proportion of the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia's permanent collection. Mi'kmaq artists are particularly emphasized; the Gallery also owns works by luminares such as Marcus Gosse and Leonard Paul.

Musée des beaux-arts de la Nouvelle-Écosse, Centre-ville, Halifax, Nouvelle-Écosse. «Meskocipayiwak». Ce masque sculpté par Ned Bear, dont le nom en la langue cri signifie «ils ont changé tout seul», est l'une des oeuvres d'art des Premières Nations qui représentent une part importante de la collection permanente du Musée des beaux-arts de la Nouvelle-Écosse. Les artistes micmac sont particulièrement soulignés; le Musée aussi possède des oeuvres de tels luminares que Marcus Gosse et Leonard Paul.
