SOIXANTE ANS SUR LE TRÔNE. Le prince de Galles. — Maman, tu dois être fatiguée dêtre assise depuis si longtemps. Lève-toi un peu et cède-moi ta place. (Humoristische Blâtter, de Vienne). Une des nombreuses images publiées à propos du Jubilé et au sujet desquelles on trouvera dans le texte les explications désirables. J'ajoute, ici, que si cette idée fut développée par les journaux du monde entier, elle se trouve surtout à Vienne et à Berlin. Ce fut, du reste, pour la caricature étrangère, sa façon de célébrer le jubilé de la reine. Aux Anglais, les justes hommages de la nation à la souveraine ; aux autres peuples, la note humoristique et satirique. Les crayons ne voulurent voir qu'une seule chose : c'est que le prince de Galles était toujours là, attendant, comme disait la Silhouette, « l'omnibus qui ne vient point. » L'ONCLE DE lEUROPE
