Achievement is command.The Thorough Groom is the man that takes apride in his charge, and that alone is the test, whether itbe the paid servant or the owner of the horse ; for it isequally important that the master should do his duty,when he undertakes it, as the man. The business ofhorse-keeping must not be skimmed over by the employeror employees. Care must be taken not to be promptedto adopt all the complicated and expensive experimentsthat are frequently suggested, and which in many casesdo not mean economy or improvement, but anxiety, andreduction in the market value of the horse.
