(Not the natural gifts, but honest dili-gence make the distinctions i« life. Any prayer is too long that is imade inchurch by the man whose yardstick is tooshort. When there is no gospel in the preach-ing, what good will it do to crowd thechurch ? If God answered all prayers just asthey are made, the earth would soon re-turn to chaos. The preacher who receives the largestsalary, is not always the one who is doingthe most for Christ. No prayer meetingwas ever killed bythe prayers being tooshort. The business of thepreacher is not todefend the gospel,but to preach it. Prayers are some-times made in churchthat the devil wouldlike to see an-swered. If your pastorpreaches too longfor you, >it may bethat your prayers forhim are too short. One way to avoidhaving stereotypedprayers, is to make anew one wheneverwe have a newneed. What do you sup-pose angels thinkwhen they see apreacher looking foran easy place? MODERN BUSINESS METHODS.
