I understand your point. The thing is that the VI must be the "most valued" within the scope, and I think there is more value in showing a bit more of the Champ and of its surroundings (I think your crop is a bit tight, actually). And better quality adds value, although you're true about the fact that high quality is not a requirement. But when we have several pictures, we must compare them and select the best one (well, the most valued).
