Scope Nominated as the most valued image on Commons within the scope:
Bronze cannon that was preserved under sea-water for 300 years as a result of an fortuitous sacrifical anode.
Used in Global usage
Reason The large cannon in this image was preserved under sea-water for over 300 years as a result of resting on two cast iron cannons that acted as "sacrifical anodes". The smaller, heavily corroded cannon shows how it would have looked had there been no sacrifical anode. -- Martinvl (talk)
