  •  Request Very interesting. Could you please add a geotag? --Myrabella (talk) 20:21, 7 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Comment Is a geotag neccessary? This is an indoor shot. Secondly, I do not know about the location since I am only the nominator. Anyways, I have left a message on the user's page who actually shot this image. -- JovianEye (talk) 20:48, 7 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Support Thanks for the geotag. Best image in scope to me, all criteria met. Firstly, the scene takes place in Kerala, from where this form of dance-drama originated. Secondly, the picture well shows the performer's hand gestures and facial expression, which are main features (according to en:Kathakali, "in Kathakali, the story is enacted purely by the movements of the hands (called mudras or hand gestures) and by facial expressions (rasas) and bodily movements.") Moreover, the actor plays an emblematic character, stated in the description. I didn't find a better picture with these features. Thirdly, I guess we see a piece of the usual lamp in front of the performer ("Kathakali is usually performed in front of the huge Kalivilakku (kali meaning dance; vilakku meaning lamp)". One may only regret that the stage and the musicians aren't shown. File:Kerala_02.jpg does it, but with poorer description and technical quality. Minor remark: if you have some knowledge in this form of art, maybe could you add the name of the hand gestures (see this table). --Myrabella (talk) 11:32, 12 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
