I wonder if a better English translation would be Crouching? Charlesjsharp (talk) 16:53, 10 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Before that, we should have the title in the original language (is that German or Czech?) Ikan Kekek (talk) 23:57, 10 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hallo Charlesjsharp and Ikan Kekek, please no offense, but I would like to have your problems. ;-) – The figure was cast for the spa gardens in Bad Neuenahr and is called "Die Hockende". There is a duplicate in a group of figures in the Czech Republic. See here. For me it would be enough to see a beautiful sculpture made by Bořek Zeman und to know that we have no other image of this work of art in the commons. Best regards -- Spurzem (talk) 13:30, 11 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
For me it would be enough to see you take note of our helpful and constructive suggestions. We are not obliged to correct your errors. Charlesjsharp (talk) 15:35, 11 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I see no error on my part. I photographed the statue of a Czech sculptor in the spa gardens of Bad Neuenahr and saw that there is no photo of this sculpture at this place in the Commons. I found out and named the name of the artist who is obviously known in his home country. Then I presented the photo to VI. What was wrong with that? -- Spurzem (talk) 17:30, 11 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Obviously, nothing is wrong with that! Your work here is extremely valuable and greatly appreciated! But please follow the form used regularly by people like User:Archaeodontosaurus: Artworks' titles are given in their original name, with an English translation, where relevant, in parentheses. And do me a favor, cut out the sarcasm about people's problems. You have no idea what other people may be going through. Thanks. -- Ikan Kekek (talk) 23:10, 11 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I could not find the answer on the web; the easiest way is to adopt the title in German, and our English-speaking friends can suggest a translation.--Archaeodontosaurus (talk) 05:19, 12 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hallo Archaeodontosaurus, I really don't understand your problem. The figure is called "Die Hockende" in Germany, I tried to translate this description into English, but apparently it didn't work well enough. But isn't it strange that the photo is worth nothing because of that? Regards -- Spurzem (talk) 07:38, 12 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
You are exasperating sometimes. Do you understand the standard format? Put in the name of the artwork in the original language, which is not English. Don't even worry about a translation (probably "crouching" without the "the", or "crouching figure", whatever Charles prefers); we can work on it. Then I, and probably he, will vote for the photo. Or you can prefer to make ridiculous complaints about how people who are not opposing this nomination but asking you to use a standard format for your scope consider the photo "worth nothing". -- Ikan Kekek (talk) 10:30, 12 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Above I said that te name is "Die Hockende"; I translated it in „The Crouching“. What can I do more? -- Spurzem (talk) 10:47, 12 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Please look here. -- Spurzem (talk) 10:50, 12 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
It appears YOU translated it as 'The Crouching'. But I do not believe it is a good translation. It would perhaps be sensible to take account of our suggested improvments? Charlesjsharp (talk) 21:36, 12 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
This image is very successful and it is useful. The formalism suggested to you is more politeness than a problem of logic. We try to understand each other with common codes. --Archaeodontosaurus (talk) 19:47, 12 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Archaeodontosaurus: Thank you. But as I see, the image is still rejected as a VI. -- Spurzem (talk) 20:31, 12 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
No-one has rejected it; you're just being stubborn. Someone else has to make the necessary changes in the scope? You've wasted a lot of time in this discussion. -- Ikan Kekek (talk) 20:51, 12 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Ikan Kekek: I gradually stop understanding what you want. But I have now changed the scope. Do you Agree? Or what is coming now? -- Spurzem (talk) 06:46, 13 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
No, the title is needed. Just add the original title. Look at any of Archaeo's nominations of artworks for the format. -- Ikan Kekek (talk) 08:37, 13 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
If you're really having trouble understanding the standard format that's being used, I'm sorry, and I will edit your scope accordingly; just ask. -- Ikan Kekek (talk) 08:40, 13 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
