Scope | Nominated as the most valued image on Commons within the scope: Hallidie Building |
Used in | Global usage |
Reason | Full frontal view of Hallidie Building, an architecturally significant building known for being one of the first in the US to feature glass curtain walls. This was a challenging building to photograph, necessitating special equipment --- a Perspective control lens, the Laowa 15mm f/4.5 was needed. This is because the building faces a narrow street, so an extremely wide angle lens is needed to capture the full building. Due to the extreme focal length (15mm on Fujifilm GFX medium format is equivalent to about 12mm on full frame), the image quality is degraded towards the top edge, but this does not significantly detract from the quality of the image. At any rate, there is no other image in Category:Hallidie Building that depicts the whole building from the front, due to this challenging position. -- dllu (t,c) |
Review (criteria) |
Support cluttered foreground but best in scope nevertheless - I have shifted the nomination to the end of the list as per guidelines andlinked the scope to the relevant category. --Virtual-Pano (talk) 21:06, 29 April 2022 (UTC)
