| Reason | The best in scope IMO, because of size and quality. A good photograph, restored by me, of this ex-marshal of France, symbolizing treason for french people between 1870 and 1918, sentenced to death by a Military Court after his defeats and the surrending of Metz during the 1870-71 franco-prussian war. The sentence was commuted in 20 years of prison, but he escaped, and died in exile in Madrid. -- Jebulon (talk) |
