| Reason | As silly as it may sound, in Franconia, Bratwurst is an important part of the cultural identity. While the Nürnberger Rostbratwurst from Nuremberg is probably the only Franconian one that has become positively famous across the entirety of Germany and beyond, each larger city in the region is proud to have its own variety of Bratwurst (Further reading (in German): Bayerischer Rundfunk, Frankenpost). This is the version from Bayreuth as sold on the streets: long and thin, made from comparably fine ground meat and served in pairs in a bread roll. -- El Grafo (talk) |
