Vespa 50 Elestart
First series V5A3T / V5B2T (1969-1975): Although it has always been easy to start the engine of the 50 Special with the crank, Piaggio has created this model aesthetically the same, equipped with an electric starter of the engine on the left side of the part rear of the body (with a second door) staying there two 6-volt batteries, while on the right side of the engine compartment remained. The electric starter is to convert the flywheel alternator stator assembly in a motor powerful enough to turn the crankshaft by putting it in motion, this system was called "dynamotor." The key is inserted into a lock on the handlebars and started the engine with the starter of today's cars (the picture shown was lit by a large red light between the lock and the odometer); on the steering tube remained the lock only for the insertion of the steering lock and as with Special, behind the shell could be placed the spare wheel or the glovebox. The gearbox had three gears.

- Oppose IMO, this kind of angle does not make justice to this italian-iconic object. Look, furthermore, almost 80% of the picture seems useless for me. Sorry.--Jebulon (talk) 16:58, 18 November 2014 (UTC)
- Oppose exactly per Jebulon, sorry. --Cayambe (talk) 22:11, 18 November 2014 (UTC)
- Comment I think there is the potential to take a nice FP of a Vespa in a typical environment, but surely from a lower PoV, here Jebulon is right that there is too much empty space.
