- Info The mute swan (Cygnus olor) is a species of swan and a member of the waterfowl family Anatidae. It is native to much of Eurosiberia, and (as a rare winter visitor) the far north of Africa. It is an introduced species in North America, home to the largest populations outside of its native range, with additional smaller introductions in Australasia and southern Africa. The name 'mute' derives from it being less vocal than other swan species. Measuring 125 to 160 cm (49 to 63 in) in length, this large swan is wholly white in plumage with an orange beak bordered with black. It is recognizable by its pronounced knob atop the beak, which is larger in males. Created and uploaded by Yerpo - nominated by -- 20 upper 19:26, 21 August 2023 (UTC)

- Oppose Not exceptional, the FP bar for swans is much higher. The nominated image is similar composition, but is inferior to this FP shot in 2007. --Tagooty (talk) 03:46, 23 August 2023 (UTC)
- Oppose I'm sorry, but I agree. This is a very common species taken from an easy POV. Neither the level of detail nor the light are exceptional. Poco a poco (talk) 12:39, 23 August 2023 (UTC)
- Oppose Not compelling for such an easy species. Charlesjsharp (talk) 15:55, 23 August 2023 (UTC)
I withdraw my nomination I'm quitting FP since it is obvious that this is going nowhere; what a failure I am. 20 upper 17:48, 23 August 2023 (UTC)
