Discussion
- Please make test run for each task. --EugeneZelenko (talk) 14:11, 9 October 2014 (UTC)
- I have done test runs with the abbedabb account, since the abbedabbot account doesn't have AWB rights. -abbedabbtalk 22:05, 12 October 2014 (UTC)
- You need a bot for only editing your own (~500) files? To be honest, i see no need. You can ask a bot operator to fix something for you. --Steinsplitter (talk) 17:13, 9 October 2014 (UTC)
- I upload aprox. over 1000 files every year. -abbedabbdisk 18:41, 9 October 2014 (UTC)
- True, the tool seems broken. What you like to do exactly with your bot? :) --Steinsplitter (talk) 18:44, 9 October 2014 (UTC)
- Different changes in the file information. Adding info in other languages, adding or editing templates, changing other info. -abbedabbdisk 20:14, 9 October 2014 (UTC)
- I think you can do that with your main account and AWB. I see no need for a own bot for only editing your own files. --Steinsplitter (talk) 10:25, 10 October 2014 (UTC)
- I prefer making bot edits with my bot, just like on Swedish Wikipedia where I make "regular edits" with my "ordinary" account (abbedabb) and bot edits with my bot (abbedabbot). I want to separate the bot edits. I realize I might not need bot
statusflag on the abbedabbot account, but I need the AWB rights. -abbedabbdisk 10:30, 10 October 2014 (UTC)

- @Commons:Requests for rights#abbedabbot, for making 500 massedits with AWB we can grant awb flag to your account. --Steinsplitter (talk) 17:45, 9 October 2014 (UTC)
- User has also a bad understanding of commons (See COM:RFR). Imho it is a bad idea to approve this bot. --Steinsplitter (talk) 11:29, 12 October 2014 (UTC)
- I do not understand why Steinsplitter gives AWB access to username abbedabb, when I clearly applied for AWB access to username abbedabbot. -abbedabbtalk 19:26, 12 October 2014 (UTC)
- I am now applying for bot status for abbedabbot, but without bot flag. -abbedabbtalk 22:05, 12 October 2014 (UTC)
- @abbedabb: I have now added abbedabbot to the list of bot users allowed to run AWB in automatic mode. Please let me know if that's OK with you, and I'll mark this request as closed. Thanks, and sorry for the delay in processing your request. odder (talk) 09:57, 28 October 2014 (UTC)
Done. Operator got what operator asked for. --Dschwen (talk) 16:37, 20 November 2014 (UTC)
