Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~. To link to an image page without embedding the image, type: [[:File:Foo.jpg]], which produces: File:Foo.jpg. You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account. There are several tools to upload files. Have you edited Wikipedia before? This guide might be useful. Made a mistake? Do you want to have a file renamed or moved? Use the move link and wait for an authorized user to rename it. Do you want to have your recently uploaded picture removed? Tag it as {{speedy|reason here}}. For more information read the deletion guidelines.

File categorization for Wiki Science Competition 2017

Hi, we are completing the evaluation of WSC2017 in India (some jurors were quite slow!) and we are deciding what to consider in the "non-photigraphic media" category. After a structured debate with the international committee we agreed to consider most of your uploaded files as part of Category:Non-photographic_media_from_Wiki_Science_Competition_2017. I know you put only one of them there, but in our opinion a microscopic image should look more like a standard 2D or 3D "spatial" image and not a profile that is very similar to a graph. In the end, all non optical microscopic images are the output of a computer and are somehow generated, so it's a subtle distinction. You have however more chance to be a finalist due to a lower competition... so good for you.--Alexmar983 (talk) 22:37, 2 April 2018 (UTC)

Dear uploader of European Science Photo Competition 2015 and Wiki Science Competition 2017, we would like to remind you that Wiki Science Competition 2019 has started in the whole world. It is now completed in Russia (active in May), Ukraine and France (active during November), but it's still open in all the other countries.

If you want to take part where WSC2019 is still open, please consult this page. Only some national categories are associated to competitions with local prizes.

If you are an expert user, please consider that images uploaded within the deadline can be included in any case in their national category even if not uploaded with the main interface.

Please keep in mind that there is a new category this year, i.e. "nature and wildlife".

If you already took part in a country that has completed its upload phase, please consider improving the description in English of your files (click on the edit button), since such description is what the international jury will use to evaluate them. World finalists will be finalized after March 2020.

It is now completed in Russia (active in May), but it's still open in almost all the other countries.

If you want to take part in WSC2021, please consult this page. Only some national categories are associated to competitions with local prizes.

If you are an expert user, we remind you that images uploaded within the deadline can be included in any case in their national category even if not uploaded with the main interface.

Please keep in mind that there is a new category this year, that is "astronomy".

Wiki Loves Food photographic competition on Indian cuisine, which is happening from November 1 to November 30, 2022, ends in less than a week.
