Hello, Ltosnar!
Tip: Add categories to your files
Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.

Thanks for uploading File:Walter Regent Airspeed (Sodomka).jpg. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the No permission since tag with on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.

Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own).

The file probably has been deleted. If you sent a permission, try to send it again after 14 days. Do not re-upload. When the VRT-member processes your mail, the file can be undeleted. Additionally you can request undeletion here, providing a link to the File-page on Commons where it was uploaded (:File:Walter Regent Airspeed (Sodomka).jpg) and the above demanded information in your request.

Some contents have been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether they should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at their entry.

If you created these pages, please note that the fact that they have been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with them, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

the Answer As employee of a Motorlet (1979-1994), based on a contract, I wrote two historical articles on Walter cars. That's why I got to use (and I get it) the relevant photos from the archive. Motorlet no exist from 1995. see: 1) TOŠNAR, Libor; SOMMER, Bohumil. Motorcycles, Tricycles and Cars (1901-1951). New Signal, Motorlet, 1981-2. 2) TOŠNAR, Libor. Sports and racing cars in the history of our business. New Signal, Motorlet. 1980 Best regards Libor Tošnar, 27 June 2018 Libor Tošnar

And it is true that those "glass plates" were created more than 70 years ago. I took it myself and picked out those interesting ones. --Ltosnar (talk) 11:02, 27 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you very much for your answer. I have copied it on the deletion request page and have replied there. Ariadacapo (talk) 19:15, 27 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Není nad bdělost a ostražitost.

Mr. Ariadacapo also let me delete my photographs and pictures eg File: Walter WIZ (1921), drawing Milan Tošnar 1981.jpg, File: Walter 0 a.jpg (Walter 0 racing 1924, drawing by Milan Tošnar 1980) and File: Walter Super 6 (1930) at a commemorative ride 1,000 miles Cz. 2018.jpg. I have explained several times to the other pictures (from 1913-1936) that I obtained them legally as a Walter employee. Now all these pictures (glass plates) are stored in the State Regional Archives in Prague. Libor Tošnar Ltosnar (talk) 16:23, 20 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Permission from the copyright owners: owner from the copyright is Czech Republic (State Regional Archives in Prague). The photographs may have been taken by a Walter employee and were therefore owned by the Walter plant, owned by the Kumpera family. The property of the Kumpera family (Kumpera) was confiscated according to the Decree of the President of the Republic of 25 October 1945 on Confiscation of Enemy Assets and National Restitution Funds No. 108/1945 Coll. Factory Walter was nationalized after the II. World War in 1945. All property belonged to the Czechoslovak Republic. Now the documentation is stored in the state archive and "belongs to all the people". Archiving site: The State Regional Archives in Prague. See: https://www.mvcr.cz/clanek/archivy-a-archivalie.aspx?q=Y2hudW09Mg%3d%3d. The Walter Archive(1902-1948) is accessible and anyone can copy, photograph, scan, etc. For many photos (where isn´t author) I also mention where they were published(all photos are in the State Regional Archives), ie Magazines and Newspapers: Auto, Pestrý týden, Český svět, Motor Journal, Národní listy, Lidové noviny). The "community" also suggests deleting these pictures. Why? Are not they measuring "dual" meter here? Just look at hundreds of photos on the Wiki, for example: File:Hans Stuck aux Quatre-Chemins, côte de La Turbie 1936.jpg, File:Hans Stuck, vainqueur de la côte de La Turbie 1936 sur Auto Union V16 Type CD.jpg, File:Albert Divo vainqueur de la Targa Florio 1928, sur Bugatti Type 35B.jpg, File:Janine Jennky victorieuse de la Coupe de Bourgogne 1928, sur Bugatti 35C.jpg, File:Hans Stuck au Grand Prix de l'ACF 1934 (Auto Union Type A).jpg etc. It's just a coincidence that the all pictures are from the French authors. This is generally the case.--Ltosnar (talk) 15:10, 21 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Kategorizace

[edit]

Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.

Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own).

The file probably has been deleted. If you sent a permission, try to send it again after 14 days. Do not re-upload. When the VRT-member processes your mail, the file can be undeleted. Additionally you can request undeletion here, providing a link to the File-page on Commons where it was uploaded (:File:Issacs Fury Mk 1 (G-ASCM, 1964).jpg) and the above demanded information in your request.

I think I've done enough. I contacted the author (owner) of the image and he agreed to post it on Wiki Commons. That ends for me. I cannot contact OTRS and explain.

Thanks for uploading File:Jan Šusta, konstruktér.jpg. I notice that the file page either doesn't contain enough information about the license or it contains contradictory information about the license, so the copyright status is unclear.

If you created this file yourself, then you must provide a valid copyright tag. For example, you can tag it with GFDL to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with PD-self to release it into the public domain. (See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of license tags that you can use.)

If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. If you did not create the file yourself and the specific source and license information is not available on the web, you must obtain permission through the VRT system and follow the procedure described there.

Note that any unsourced or improperly licensed files will be deleted one week after they have been marked as lacking proper information, as described in criteria for deletion. If you have uploaded other files, please confirm that you have provided the proper information for those files, too. If you have any questions about licenses please ask at Commons:Village pump/Copyright or see our help pages. Thank you.

Dear friend,
photo is from Magazine Český svět (12.05.1927) see appendix [1]. In order to see the attachment, you must be a registered reader of one of the Czech libraries. I would give you a printscreen, but wikimedia commons doesn't allow that. Ltosnar (talk) 09:05, 2 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Dear friend,
I fixed the license on "Anonymous-EU Published more than 70 years ago, author anonymous". Somehow I missed Anonymous-EU. I hope everything is okay. Ltosnar (talk) 09:14, 2 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Pay attention to copyright
File:Auto Union Typ B (Avus 1935).jpg has been marked as a possible copyright violation. Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content—that is, images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. Traditional copyright law does not grant these freedoms, and unless noted otherwise, everything you find on the web is copyrighted and not permitted here. For details on what is acceptable, please read Commons:Licensing. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules useful, or you can ask questions about Commons policies at the Commons:Help desk. If you are the copyright holder and the creator of the file, please read Commons:But it's my own work! for tips on how to provide evidence of that.

The file you added has been deleted. If you have written permission from the copyright holder, please have them send us a free license release via COM:VRT. If you believe that the deletion was not in accordance with policy, you may request undeletion. (It is not necessary to request undeletion if using VRT; the file will be automatically restored at the conclusion of the process.)

 • This file is a copyright violation for the following reason: Wrong license. And even if the uploader claims "anonymous photographer", the fact that the image has been sourced from a magazine makes the prerequisites of Template:PD-anon-70-EU not fulfillable in my opinion.
Warning: Wikimedia Commons takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

Public domain
This image (or other media file) is in the public domain because its copyright has expired and its author is anonymous.
This applies to the European Union and those countries with a copyright term of 70 years after the work was made available to the public and the author never disclosed their identity.
Important: Always mention where the image comes from, as far as possible, and make sure the author never claimed authorship.

Note: In Germany and possibly other countries, certain anonymous works published before July 1, 1995 are copyrighted until 70 years after the death of the author. See Übergangsrecht. Please use this template only if the author never claimed authorship or their authorship never became public in any other way. If the work is anonymous or pseudonymous (e.g., published only under a corporate or organization's name), use this template for images published more than 70 years ago. For a work made available to the public in the United Kingdom, please use Template:PD-UK-unknown instead.
